Of Fathers & Sons
This is more of a detective story than a "woe is me" memoir which
is a real testament to the swift storytelling of this talented man. The
subject matter could have been morose but it wasn't. The zig-zag back and
forth in time kept me turning pages quickly. I knew a bit about the
author going in, but learned a lot in reading. This author leaves it all on the
table and doesn't hold back. You'll never feel pity for him, though to be
fair, he came a long way baby!
Alan Cumming's memoir Not My Father's Son will be published by Dey Street Books on October 7th.
